Children Minister - Donna Root

Donna Root was born and raised in a Christian home in Judsonia, Arkansas.  She knew from an early age that it was important to be involved in teaching Bible classes because of the example set by her parents, and actually taught her first Bible class when she was in the 6th grade.  With her degrees from Harding University and University of Arkansas in Nutrition and Dietetics, she has worked as a Registered Dietitian mainly in the area of Pediatric and Renal (kidney) Nutrition.  While her children were young, she left that area of work for several years, and became a Preschool Teacher and then a Preschool Director in two Christian Preschools where she wrote curriculum, worked with the Preschool Staff, and became an advisor/counselor for parents.  When teaching a Bible class, she loves making the Bible stories and lessons come alive for the students.  She is thrilled to be working with the Children’s Ministry here at the Florissant Church of Christ.

Donna is married to Mike Root and they have been at Florissant since 2005.  They have three married children and seven grandchildren.
